Monty Python’s Holy Grail Ale

This golden, crisp and zesty ale from The Black Sheep Brewery in North Yorkshire, UK, was created in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. This collaboration of absurdist humor and innovative brewing techniques has resulted in a beer that’s fun to drink for a variety of reasons.

Of course it’s “tempered over burning witches”, so be prepared for something unusual. Actually, in our experience this is a fruity, medium to light bodied ale that’s easy to drink.

Ready for the ingredients? They’re pretty simple: just hops, malted barley, torrefied wheat, water, and yeast. The way it should be.

At 4.0% abv, this is a light enough beer that can be enjoyed at earlier hours. It has a nice citrus aroma and finish as well.

Intrigued? Here’s a bit more:

The Black Sheep Brewery has been working with the hilarious folks from Monty Python since 1999.

So, in addition to the Holy Grail alle, they’ve produced a full range of beers to honor the tradition of Monty branded humor, including Monty Python’s Flying Circus (IPA), Brian (a very naughty Pale Ale) and the soon to be released Dead Parrot (a Norwegian amber).
